Here i'm sharing review of short-story :At Home" by Anton Chekhov

Introduction:
                  Anton pavlovich checov(1860-1904) was an eminent Russian dramatist and short story writer.born in a small town,Taganrog on the Black sea coast,checov graduated in medicine from Moscow university.

                  He was also a prolific contributor to comic papers.His best-known plays are :The sea Gull,uncle Vanya,The three sisters and the cherry orchard .Chekov's short stories assess and examine life in Russia before the Bolshevik revolution of 1905.They capture the various characters in their many moods ,express their sensibilities and portray the mood of a scene in clear and concise language in the minimum possible  words.They are marked with extreme simplicity and directness.

ABOUT THE STORY:

             At Home describes the embarrassing situation an indulgent father finds himself  in when he learns from the governess that his seven-year-old son has started smoking.He is upset when the son does not pay any attention when told tobacco is had for health.He is at a loss as to how to put he message across to his son.His problem is "How to educate children?" He tells him a story and the son promises that he won't smoke any more.
