The Gold Bug by Edger Allan Poe

         ‘The Gold Bug’ written by Edgar Allan  Poe.  This short story published in 1843. the story set on Sullivan’s Island, south Carolina involving deciphering a secret message and finding buried treasure.
 

         ‘The Gold Bug’ there are the three main characters in the short story like Mr.Legrand, Jupiter, The narrator. here, in this short story poe talk about the gold bug . if the bug is alive but it is looks like gold bug . the short story described  the hidden message.

       The beginning of the story we can defined that it is a story of a strange man Mr.Legrand. who seemingly goes crazy after finding and being bitten by a bug thought to be made of pure gold. he notifies his closet friend . the narrator, telling him to immediately come visit where he alive and notifies the narrator upon arrival that they are embarking upon a search for lost treasure after much doubt on behalf of the narrator, the once seemingly insane man does find a treasure buried by the infamous pirate “captain kidd” that is estimated by the narrator to be worth about fourteen million dollars. once the treasure is safely secured the man goes into an elaborate explanation of how he know about the treasure’s location based on a set of occurrences  that happened after the discovery of the gold bug. In this story Poe’s character Mr.Legrand explains his ability to solve the cipher in a similar manner as poe does in “some word on secret writing”
